As a public body, placed under the authority of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saint-Malo celebrated its 200th birthday in 2003.  The CCI of Saint-Malo is an elected assembly of company managers, and represents the commercial and industrial interests of the enterprises in its district before the public authorities.
As a "local business authority," the CCI manages structural facilities to assist businesses and boost their growth: ports, airport, training and learning centre, exhibition centre, etc.

The CCI also plays a key role in the development of companies in its district, providing information and assistance with company administrative formalities, help with starting up, taking over or transferring companies, organising training, international development, etc.
The CCI of Saint-Malo is run by company managers who volunteer their services:

• 29 incumbent members, elected by direct suffrage by their peers, who define the general policy and vote on the budget.
• 15 associate members with a consultative role.
• 20 technical advisers representing departmental authorities, banks, public enterprises.
• 111 consular representatives with the power to elect the judges at the Commercial Court.

High-quality services

The CCI of Saint-Malo has embarked upon a certification initiative in order to control the quality of the products and services it provides.
